Ruslan Davydov arrived in Uzbekistan to hold the next SRTS meeting

Ahead of the 78th meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services – CIS members, which will be held on April 26 in Tashkent, Ruslan Davydov, acting head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia and chairman of the SRTS, visited the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan

The Russian delegation familiarized itself with the work of the Central Customs Laboratory. It is equipped with all the necessary modern equipment to conduct expert examinations and research in the interests of customs

The next point of the route was the Data Processing Center, where the information systems were demonstrated. The data center’s server room meets all international standards of cybersecurity and big data processing, and has a capacity reserve for uninterrupted operation for 10 years

Special attention was paid to the Electronic Declaration Center, which was established in September 2023. It is the basis for customs clearance of goods arriving in Tashkent. The EDC processes up to 2,500 declarations per day and collects payments of $10-15 million. This is 55% of all customs payments collected in the Republic

In conclusion, the delegation visited the call center and medical assistance department, as well as the risk targeting and monitoring center. Uzbekistan’s customs authorities are implementing a risk management system taking into account the best international practices, including the experience of Russian customs authorities. The RMS is used to select goods for control on the basis of risk profiles and modules for categorizing foreign trade participants
